Disabling Write Caching on Windows 10/11

Write caching should be disabled on all Windows clients that access Connected.  Use the following instructions to disable write caching.

This is applicable for the following Connected PC Versions:

-Connected 12.x
-Connected 11.x

-Connected 10.x

-all legacy versions of Connected

This is not applicable for macOS.

To disable write behind caching:

1) Locate the C: drive on your computer.

2) Right click on the C: and select Properties to open the following screen:

3) Click the hard drive and then click the Properties button in the bottom right of the screen to open the following window.

4) Click on the Change Settings button in the bottom left (shown in the screen above), to open the Drive properties. Click the Policies tab to show the following screen.

5) Ensure that the "Enable write caching on the device" checkbox is NOT selected. Click OK to complete the changes.
