Pricing and Discount User Privileges

There are several user privileges that relate directly to custom inventory pricing and discounts.  The user privileges not only maintain the integrity of the inventory pricing but can also reduce key strokes during data entry.

Modify Price/Discount User Privilege

Connected can be configured to block the Price and/or the Discount field in all A/R windows (Sales Quote, Sales Order, Account Invoice, and Credit Memo) on a user by user basis.  This user privilege can help maintain custom pricing and require a manager to make changes to pricing when required on a specific transaction. 

These user privilege are enabled in the A/R section of the user privileges window, as shown in the following screen.

The following screen shows how the "Price" and "Dis" fields are blocked when a user cannot modify either.

Modify Price and Discount, by Item

Connected also has the ability to prevent price and discount changes at the item level, regardless of the user privilege setting as shown earlier.  On an item by item basis the Price and Discount field can allow edits, even if the user privilege described in the previous section is turned off.

To allow the Price and Discount to be modified for specific item(s) only, make the selection as shown below in the Inventory Items window.

If the "All Users Modify Price and Discount in A/R" checkbox is NOT selected, prices that are set using Customer Item Info, Price Tables, and or Price Matrix, will be enforced.
