Configuration: Auto-logoff is used for assistance with closing client instances in local Connected deployments, in which a Connected ODB data server is locally maintained.
Auto log off is best viewed as a way to assist with having users logout/close Connected at a specific time so that maintenance can be performed, like a backup. This is not a solution that will guarantee all users are logged off and should be used in conjunction with other best practices and company policy when scheduling/maintaining data backups. For example, if a user has a screen open in add/edit mode, the auto logoff will not proceed for that user.
To set the Auto Log Off within a company data file:
1) Select File -> Company Setup -> General Setup.
2) Click the "Options" tab and select the "Auto Log Off Time" checkbox.
3) Enter a time in the space provided, using a 24hr clock, as shown in the following screen. For example, 11:15pm is entered as 23:15.
4) Click Save to exit the General Setup window with the new changes applied.
When the auto log off is initiated, a sample of the message is shown below.
