Date Formats are not Matching when Exporting to Excel
In some cases, when sending a report from the Connected Accounting and ERP Software to Microsoft Excel the dates appear incorrectly. For example, June 9, 2024 is displayed in Connected as 06/09/24 (MM/DD/YY). If your computer is using a different system setting, this may export to Excel as September 6, 2024 (06/09/24 using DD/MM/YY).
Connected's default date format is MM/DD/YY (month/day/year)
Excel uses the date format specified in your computer System settings, which often will default to a DD/MM/YY (day/month/year) format for some Canadian or European based computers.
To resolve this issue, change the system date settings on your computer.
Changing Date Format Settings macOS
1) Select System Preferences from the Apple menu.
2) Click "General", followed by "Language & Region", as shown in the following screen:
3) In the Language & Region screen, click the "Date format" pull down menu and select the format that matches MM/DD/YY. An example using the current date will appear at the top of the window.
4) Exit the window and retry the Connected Excel export that was having an issue.
NOTE: Excel may need to be restarted to take the new settings.
Changing Date Format Settings Windows 11
1) Open the Settings window from the Start menu.
2) In the Settings window, select the "Time and Language" option, as shown in the following screen.
3) Click the "Language & region" option.
4) In the Language & region tab, select the down arrow to the right of "Regional format" and click the "Change formats" button.
5) In the "Regional format" tab, select the "Short Date" format from the pull down menu. MM/DD/YY or MM/DD/YYYY are ideal formats.
NOTE: Selecting the Regional format of "English (United States)" will set the date format MM/DD
